Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit

shifts: 7p-7a x 3 (24 & 36 hrs/wk) – 3 openings
Job highlights Qualifications
• Must have experience in working in a critical care environment as well as IV conscious sedation
• Graduate from state approved school of nursing
• 3-5 years of acute care nursing expertise, with 2 or more recent years of ICU experience
• RN licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Certified in ACLS, TNCC, PALS with BLS training
• Adhere to the job description for a Registered Nurse at Anna Jaques Hospital
• Assist with admissions/ transfers to units
• Perform RN skills/procedures
• Act as a resource for IV therapy
• Able to perform phlebotomy and 12 lead EKGs
• Monitor patients receiving IV moderate sedation during procedure
• Make rounds to all patient care areas, assisting as needed and providing expertise, guidance and coaching
• Care for patients in all areas as deployed by the Administrative Nursing Supervisor
• Respond to all Code Blue, Rapid Responses, Trauma Activations and Team Controls
• Seek out less experienced nursing staff and provides mentoring
• Communicate with Nursing Education to be aware of new initiatives/education
• Serve as an off-shift resource on new initiatives/education
• Recover post-operative patients
• Travel with patients who require an RN to monitor the patient as assigned but will not assume a permanent assignment on any unit or area of the hospital
